Everybody says “legacy” code or “inherited” code. This presentation shows you why the meaning that this word carries can discourage you from doing your work well. The presenter uses linguistic, dictionaries, logic, psychology and back his claim with experiments and studies done so far. When folks say “inherited” or “legacy” they think “not my problem” because it’s just not “theirs”. But it is actually! Using “untamed” actually works much better as it highlights that there is a problem with the code that needs to be solved.
